Everything is Knit!
Well, lots of things are, anyway. I learned the basics of knitting
this weekend (thanks, Bev!!), and I was struck by an interesting
observation: almost EVERY cloth we use is either woven or knit, so if
you have those you have the basic human fabric arts. Anyway, things I
don't think of as being 'knit', like t-shirts and close-knit sweaters,
are just fascinating me now that I recognize the stitches. I want to
work with really fine threads and yarns and get a knitting machine
(besides the hand-work, of course), to have the capability of knitting
things like comfortable socks.
Strange how a person's ambitions change with life :)
