Fingertips(3) Had my nails done today. Third time, third place - I think this place is one I wouldn't mind going back to. The fellow who did my nails seems to take cuticles as a personal affront, though. I find it fascinating that the 'nail trade' seems to be the exclusive domain of Vietnamese people. I also love it that the women seem to lounge around the store while the men do the nail-work - possibly the women do all the cleaning, business work, etc. Or possibly they have lives of ease :) I loved this shade of orange - but I pretty much love every shade of orange, so that's not saying much.

Mmm.... bacon
This quote from a comment at Samizdata.net pretty much sums up my feelings about pork:
I love pigs and don't know how anyone could eat one. They are as intelligent and fun loving and affectionate as dogs. Sadly, there is probably no more delicious smell in the universe than that of frying bacon, though.
Re: politics: the post referred to is about an interesting concept: a buycott - which is the opposite of a boycott, of course.

Fingertips(2) Another shade: 'flash of pink'; white with pink undertones. The pictures do not, of course, do it justice. One taken inside, one outside, to show the range of the shade.

I let go of the law, and people become honest.
I let go of economics, and people become prosperous.
I let go of religion and people become serene.
I let go of all desire for the common good,
and the good becomes common as grass.
When the will to power is in charge,
the higher the ideals, the lower the results.
