Stinkhorn Paradise I recently stayed for a weekend with three of my sisters an my mother at a cabin on the Skyline Drive in Virginia. Setting aside the sad connection with FDR, it's really a very pretty place :)

Lots of great pics, but leafing through them it seems like every other picture I took was of some sort of fungus - what a great place for 'shrooms!

So here's a picture of a stinkhorn, a fungus whose fruiting body disperses its spores by making them into a slimy stink that attracts flies which then carries the spores away on their feet. And speaking of feet, my favorite 'group pic' from the weekend was one of our feet (the sisters).



Also threw in a picture of my mom and sisters at some caverns we visited - if you get the chance, go see the caves at Grottoes. I'll put some pics of them up when I get them edited to my satisfaction.
