  Guns (happy, not tragic)

Here's the way guns should be enjoyed - punching holes in paper targets and aluminum cans on a blustery spring day with good friends.

I had the pleasure of aiming at a can with Bill's 9mm Kel-Tec (a 'gangsta'-looking gun that's a lot of fun) and actually hitting it. Twice! In a row! I was shooting right-handed and aiming with the left eye. I am definitely left-eye dominant, and am trying to work on left-handed shooting for that reason.

In this shot, Rob is holding Phil's AK47. This was the first time I'd gotten to shoot an AK, and I loved it. I still adore the SKS, but I see why the AK is so popular. It's really comfortable to carry and fire. I didn't worry overmuch about aiming the AK, as it was too much fun to just blast away with it. Some day I'll become less juvenile about 'bang-bang' and actually settle down and learn to shoot properly. Oh, I also shot some cannon-like Swiss rifle whose name I forget (thanks, Eli!) and a couple of pistols and a 20-gauge shotgun. Shotgun makes sense for home defense, and I'd like to try at shooting clays, but I really prefer rifles.

The handsome fellow taking aim with the Ruger 10/22 is my husband. Thanks to the Howes for a great time!!!

I let go of economics, and people become prosperous.
I let go of religion and people become serene.
I let go of all desire for the common good,
and the good becomes common as grass.

the higher the ideals, the lower the results.
