Games with Geeks
I was envying a co-worker the other day because she could get her husband to play board games. Scrabble, even! I don't think Bill and I have
ever played a board game.
But that's about to change!!
I scored a copy of SPI's 1977 War of the Rings game - at, of all places, a junk shop in some teeny town in Rockingham County. And, yes, I was there in dereliction of my duty to place yard signs for
Eric Smith's school board campaign. But it was only a short break! :)
Bill was delighted with the game. I never got into the D&D craze, though I was the right age for it and associated with the type :) Bill was pretty much the same; but he was happy to see this game. I can't wait to stride the cardboard fields of Rohan with my little square armies of Evil Men and Orcs, and get my extra shield card (or whatever)!

So sometime soon I'll be cosied up with my geeky mate playign a real board game - the only question is who will be Sauron and who will be the Forces of Good???
