Wolf spider with babies We found this wolf spider on the floor last week near the dog water bowl (note the depressing amount of dog hair it picked up on its feet from running around under the couch). It had a bunch of spiderlings on its back!

We often see these in the yard/garden, carrying egg sacs or spiderlings. This one was determined to stay in the house - Bill put it out twice and it ran back in and fianlly lodged under the couch. So I guess we'll have plenty of wolf spiders for the rest of the summer :)    ¶ 2:19 AM
